My fascination for nature, art and their mutual coherence led to the publication of a book about the evolutionary origin of human art behaviour (The biological evolution of the arts, 2006). In 2008 I wrote a version of this book for children, illustrated by Linda van Erve, titled ‘WAT HEET MOOI?’ (‘What the hell is beautiful’). In Natuurmuseum Brabant, where I am the director, an exhibition was held under the same title.
